Cooperatives Department Land Recovered
Lahore: Punjab Justice Minister Basharat Raja said state land worth billions of rupees and owned by the state’s cooperatives department has been reclaimed from the mafia and collection of government arrears is underway.

The Justice Minister also said he had instructed the Punjab Cooperative Bank authorities to take effective measures to eliminate the mafia as soon as possible.
Mr Rajah said the election plan was put out to revitalize the dormant cooperatives and that regular appointments would soon be made to fill the long vacancies of presidents of the cooperative banks.
“In addition, cooperative stores and service centers will be rehabilitated, and cooperative banks will soon resume offering easy loans to farmers to purchase agricultural machinery,” he said.
