CPEC JCC 2021 Likely in Next Week of September
Islamabad: According to press reports, the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is scheduled to meet in the third week of September.

Khalid Mansoor, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for CPEC, stated on Monday that the meeting could occur in Islamabad on September 23 or 24. Pakistan will be represented by Planning Minister Asad Umer, while China will be represented by National Development and Reforms Commission (NDRC) Vice Chairman Ning Jizhe. The summit will include discussions on the second phase of the CPEC and the completion schedule for the projects.
Prior to the JCC conference, a meeting of the Joint Working Group on industrial cooperation will take place. Seven of the nine joint working groups established under CPEC have already convened, with the remaining joint working groups meeting prior to the JCC.

Among the programmes and projects to be evaluated at the 10th JCC, the USD 6.8 billion railway Main-Line 1 (ML1) is at the top of the list, with agriculture, research and technology, energy, and infrastructure projects also on the agenda.
Originally scheduled for July, the 10th JCC was postponed owing to the current security situation. However, the most recent meeting will be led by a new CPEC Authority chairman, as Asim Bajwa’s term has expired and he has retired.
