Pakistan and China should expedite the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a major Belt and Road Initiative project, after cooperating to combat the pandemic.

The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of CPEC has held its tenth meeting, and a new IT working group has been established to strengthen CPEC.
According to an article published by Global Times, the success of CPEC will effectively increase Pakistan’s complete national strength and international standing.
The United States abruptly withdrew its soldiers from Afghanistan, and the Afghan Taliban rapidly seized control of Kabul and all Afghan land. Numerous strategists and media outlets in the West and India have connected the rise of the Afghan Taliban to China-US relations, China-India relations, and India-Pakistan connections.

China does not want Afghanistan to again descend into chaos due to internal political conflict, which invariably leads to humanitarian crises, nor does it want Afghanistan to become a safe haven for Eastern Turkistan groups such as the ETIM.
China does not want Afghanistan to become a source of regional upheaval due to the excessive intervention of certain external forces, which would compromise the security of CPEC.
