Crackdown Launched Against Water Mafia in Karachi
Karachi: According to sources, the Sindh government has launched a major crackdown on the water mafia in Karachi to put an end to water theft in the city.

While inspecting a site in Lyari after a successful operation, local government minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said taking action against water thieves would improve water supplies in Lyari and its communities. it’s from 20-25% of neighboring areas.
This operation was carried out by the anti-theft department of the Karachi Water Supply and Sewerage Board (KWSB) following a complaint about water theft in the Golimar area.

Massive action will soon be taken across the city to combat water theft by people accused of installing illegal connections on water agency pipes.
In addition, the minister pointed out that the teams of the water office have faced resistance from the water mafia but actions will be taken on a daily basis against those involved. To this effect, Sindh Premier Syed Murad Ali Shah ordered the police and rangers to give their best support to the authorities.

The water problem in Karachi is real and the Minister assures that the people of Karachi will be provided with water. The Water Theft Department has confiscated motors, pipes and other equipment used to steal water from major supply lines.
