Despite the uncertainty in scheduling and delay in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced its date. This is Pakistan’s top first-class cricket tournament, which will start on 26 October. This first class tournament is featured with 18 teams from 16 different regions. Thus, the tournament will be completed on the 19th of December, which counts as 25 days approximately.

18 teams that are up for the competition include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore Blues, Lahore Whites, Karachi Blues, Karachi Whites, Peshawar, Multan, Quetta, Faisalabad, FATA, Hyderabad, Abbottabad, AJK, Bahawalpur, Dera Murad Jamali, Sialkot regions, & Larkana.
The Director of Domestic Cricket Operations, Abdullah Khurram Niazi, stated in a press release, “The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is the highest level of domestic cricket in Pakistan since it serves as both a competition and an opportunity to demonstrate for the nation’s immense potential, preparing players for the challenges of performing in international cricket. As usual, we’re going to offer them the greatest opportunity to shine and showcase their ability on the most significant domestic cricket stage, where they’ll be competing against the country’s top players. We have proven that we can successfully manage the Champions One-Day Cup, and we are completely committed to strengthening our domestic system. At the core of this dedication is still the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s successful implementation.”
The defending champions of this year’s tournament, Karachi Region Whites, which was led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, had a complete dominance in the previous year’s final, winning by 456 runs against Faisalabad region held in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
