Demarcation of Land for Leh Expressway Project Begins
Rawalpindi: The district government and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) have begun acquiring land for the Leh Expressway and Flood Channel project.
A senior RDA official informed the authorities that a combined team comprised of the District Land Revenue Department, RDA’s property and engineering divisions, and the District Land Revenue Department had been formed and had begun marking the land to be acquired for the project.
He stated that Leh Nullah was divided into city and cantonment zones, and that the team will finish cantonment land demarcation in the first phase. He stated that in the second phase, the team will identify land within the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation’s control.
On the other side, RDA requested that the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) relocate its supply lines and tubewells along Leh Nullah, and after land delineation, Wasa would begin surveying the region.

Wasa had erected more than two dozen tube wells along Leh Nullah from New Kattarian to Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench building near Soan River, he said, adding that the government will provide time and money, and supply lines would be transferred after the installation of new tube wells.
He stated that the process will be concluded within a month, after which the land acquisition procedure would commence. Additionally, private landowners will be notified, and RDA has already delivered letters to home owners along the nullah.
