Development Work on Rawalpindi Ring Road Project Stops Again 2022

Announcement regarding the development work of Rawalpindi Ring Road

ISLAMABAD, July 13, 2022- After being inaugurated recently, construction on the 38.3-kilometer Rawalpindi Ring Road project has nearly come to an end.

The Rawalpindi Ring Road project’s future is uncertain because the Punjab government has launched an investigation into the road’s revised alignment and the scandal that broke during the previous Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) administration. FWO, which was awarded the project’s contract for a price of Rs 22.80 billion, also began construction at Banth Mor and Thalian Interchange on April 16. However, as a result of the political unrest in the country, the project’s ongoing work has unfortunately stopped. As Rawalpindi’s planned economic centre, it is the major project for the entire city. The cost of building will rise if the project is put on hold for an extended period of time due to the rise in fuel prices.
