Dubai to Get 24-hour Virtual Visa Application Service
ISLAMABAD, January 17, 2023- Dubai residents can inquire about their visa application process and missing documents virtually through video calls.
UAE’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has announced that Dubai residents can now use video conversations to ask about missing papers and complete visa applications. Lt. General Mohammed Al Marri, Director-General (DG) of GDRFA Dubai, stated that persons could monitor the status of their visa application, submit their documents, and receive visa-related information through video conference. Soon, the virtual facility will be expanded to provide 24-hour service, removing the need to visit visa centers physically. Lt. Gen. Al Marri noted that residents can only utilize the service after submitting a visa application and that it cannot be used for routine inquiries.
It is unknown whether the service is offered for all visa types. Due to the fact that the video conference service is undergoing testing, it should only be utilized in the event of application delays or the submission of missing papers.

Previously, GDRFA announced that it had significantly enhanced its customer service in 2022 and hired additional Emiratis, bringing its total number of specialists and professionals to 124. Additionally, the GDRFA accomplished 99 percent of its operational objectives, with the Customer Happiness Index exceeding 96% and the Partner Happiness Index reaching 100%.
