ECC Favors Import of 100,00 Tons of Sugar
Mr. Shaukat Tarin, the federal minister for finance and revenue, presided over a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet.
During its meeting, the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet accepted a summary prepared by the Industries and Production Division for approval of the tender opened on June 25, 2021 for the import of 100,000 metric tonnes of sugar.

Concerning the proposal for Intervention Price for Cotton 2021-2022 Crop by the National Food and Research Division, the ECC formed a committee charged with submitting a report within 15 days. On the basis of a statement by the Maritime Affairs Division, the ECC instructed the Petroleum Division, Finance Division, and PSO to establish a timeline for payment of the overdue PNSC fees.
The ECC authorised 2 billion rupees in Technical Supplementary Grant for the Foreign Affairs Division and 8 billion rupees in Supplementary Grant for the Textile Wing of the Commerce Division. The ECC also authorised the Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 5,800 million for the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Reforms’ use of foreign aid for NDRMF projects.

The ECC authorised a Technical Supplemental Grant of Rs. 10 million for the Aviation Division and a Technical Supplemental Grant of Rs. Similarly, the ECC authorised the Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 20.70 million for Pakistan Academy for Rural Development, Peshawar, and Rs. 1 billion for payment of Disparity Reduction Allowance to pertinent offices.
