ECNEC Approves Multiple Hydropower and Infrastructure Projects
Shaukat Tarin, the federal minister of finance and revenue, effectively presided over the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting at the Cabinet Division.

The project is situated in South Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the Gomal River. The major goal of the project is to use floodwater to irrigate 191,139 acres of land, including 28,053 additional acres that are part of the Waran Canal System, and to generate 17.4 MW of power. The project will offer an assured irrigation water supply of 848 cusecs.
The project’s execution and implementation plan are under the control of WAPDA.
Without any foreign exchange component, the COVID-19 Response and Other Natural Calamities Control Program (Sindh Component) was authorised at a total cost of Rs. 20,822.046 million.

The initiative will be sponsored by and carried out by the Department of Health, Government of Sindh. Through PSDP, the Government of Sindh and the Federal Government will jointly fund the project’s completion.
