Engro Restored Karachi’s PIDC Bridge
Engro, one of the country’s largest companies, has renovated the landmark PIDC Bridge in Karachi, which is a crucial connection to M.T. Khan Road, according to recent reports.
Murtaza Wahab Siddiuq, Advisor to the Chief Minister and recently appointed Administrator for Karachi, opened the bridge on the eve of Independence Day. Engro Energy Limited’s Chief Executive Officer Ahsan Zafar Syed, Engro Corporation’s President Ghias Khan, and other Engro team members were also in attendance.
The history of the bridge, also known as Chand Mari or Lovers Bridge, dates back to before division.
The PIDC Bridge plays a crucial role in Karachi’s development. The Bridge was initially constructed when the city’s railway services were founded. It connected the warehouses to the commercial center during the time. Currently, the PIDC Bridge is one of the city’s key traffic routes.
