Expected Dates for Eid ul Azha Holidays 2025 in Pakistan

Karachi – April 9, 2025: As anticipation builds for one of the most significant Islamic festivals, astronomers have forecast that Eid Ul Adha 2025 is likely to be celebrated on June 7 in Pakistan, depending on the sighting of the Zul-Hijjah moon.

According to astronomical predictions, if the moon is sighted on May 28, the Islamic month of Zul-Hijjah will begin on May 29, placing Eidul Azha on Saturday, June 7, 2025. In this scenario, Pakistanis could enjoy an extended four-day holiday from Friday, June 6 to Monday, June 9, with schools and offices expected to resume on Tuesday, June 10.

Meanwhile, the Emirates Astronomy Society has predicted that the Zil-Hijjah moon may be visible on May 27 in the Gulf region, which would result in Eidul Azha being observed a day earlier, on June 6, in countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Eidul Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, holds deep religious significance. It commemorates the unwavering faith and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Ismael (AS). Across Pakistan, the day is marked with special prayers, animal sacrifices, family gatherings, and acts of charity.
