FATF Decides to Keep Pakistan on Grey List
Pakistan remains on the Financial Action Task Force’s grey list because it has not yet completely implemented the action plan.
Dr. Marcus Pleyer, president of the FATF, stated, in announcing the judgement, that Pakistan had substantially addressed 26 out of 27 measures.
The FATF plenary examined the Asia-Pacific Group report on Pakistan.

In its Mutual Evaluation Report (MER) on Pakistan, released just a few weeks ago, the APG moved Pakistan from the enhanced (expedited) to the enhanced follow-up list, according to authorities.
According to the AGP group’s second follow-up MER on Pakistan, released to its website, Pakistan has made significant progress in correcting the technical compliance problems found in its MER. Pakistan has been re-rated on 22 recommendations, and one recommendation has been demoted from partially compliant to non-compliant.

FATF voted in February of this year to maintain Pakistan on its grey list, giving it until 20 June 2021, or four more months, to fulfil its full action plan. Pakistan has made progress on all action plan issues, and has now substantially addressed 24 out of 27 action plan topics.
