FBR Presents Single Identifier Number for All Domestic Taxes
Lahore: If a taxpayer is a person, FBR has introduced a single identifying number (SIN) for all domestic taxes, enabling them to use all apps for federal excise duty, sales tax, and income tax with just their CNIC.
The National Tax Number (NTN) shall be the common tax identification number for partnership partnerships and corporations. The federal excise law, income tax, and sales tax have all been harmonised in this way.

Taxpayers can now make payments through FBR’s service without going to the bank.
NADRA sources informed the relevant officials that the FBR and NADRA were working together to alter the Income Tax Ordinance to remove a provision that prevented the FBR from sharing taxpayer information with a third party.
In order to accommodate sharing the income tax statement and wealth statement of taxpayers with NADRA, they noted that a new amendment had been created to the existing Section 216(3).

But, in an interview with the newspaper, NADRA’s chairman committed to protect the taxpayers’ data from exploitation and stated that following the exercise, the data would be deleted from the NADRA system.
