FBR Suspends Senior Customs Officer Over Mandatory Training Absence

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended a Deputy Director of the Customs Academy of Pakistan (CAP), Karachi, for failing to attend a mandatory training course at LUMS.

According to an official notification issued on Wednesday, Iqbal Ahmad Memon (PCS/BS-18) has been placed under suspension with immediate effect under Rule 5(1) of the Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020. The suspension will remain in force until the completion of disciplinary proceedings.

The FBR stated that the action was taken due to his repeated and unauthorized absence from multiple sessions of a compulsory certification course, indicating non-compliance with training requirements and a lack of professional diligence.
