Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has added Sector E-8, commonly known as the Naval Headquarters area, to Islamabad’s official property valuation table, bringing residential and commercial properties in the sector under the federal valuation framework.
The latest update covers various categories of immovable property, including shops, shopping centres, open plots and apartments located in Sector E-8.
The FBR introduced the change through SRO 1335(I)/2026, which amends the earlier SRO 644(I)/2026. The amendment formally incorporates Sector E-8 into the relevant property valuation table and establishes a specific category for certain commercial properties in the area.
New Valuation Category for E-8
Under the revised notification, a new entry has been added after the existing E-7 section. It is listed as “Category C Shops, Class-III Shopping Center, E-8 (Naval Headquarters)”, formally bringing commercial properties falling under this category into Islamabad’s updated valuation framework.
The inclusion of E-8 is significant for property owners, buyers and sellers involved in transactions within the sector. FBR valuation tables provide officially determined property values that are used for federal tax-related purposes, making the updated rates relevant when calculating applicable taxes and completing transaction documentation.
What the Update Means for Property Transactions
The addition of E-8 provides a clearer federal valuation framework for properties in the sector and aligns the area with other parts of Islamabad already covered by the FBR’s valuation tables.
Property buyers, sellers, investors and owners dealing with properties covered by the notification should review the latest valuation requirements before completing transactions. The applicable tax treatment may vary depending on the type of property and nature of the transaction.
The latest change also highlights the importance of keeping track of updates to FBR property valuation tables, as revisions can affect the tax calculations associated with real estate transactions.
Property stakeholders are advised to refer to the official FBR notification or consult a qualified tax professional when determining applicable taxes, valuations and documentation requirements for transactions involving Sector E-8.
