Minister Invites China Investors to Invest in Pak Textile Sector

Islamabad: According to recent reports, Asad Umar, the Federal Minister for Planning and Development, urged Chinese businessmen and businesspeople to engage in Pakistan’s expanding textile industry on Wednesday. The government is taking helpful steps, he said, to foster cooperation and create an environment where both (CPEC partners) benefit.

Speaking during a webinar co-hosted by the CPEC Authority and the China Chamber of Commerce, the minister said that the import- and export-oriented textile and textile-related industries are drawing Chinese investors operating under CPEC.

Khalid Mansoor, the special assistant to the prime minister for CPEC matters, too voiced his ideas. He claimed that the legal framework had been upgraded and made it easier for investors to establish and run their firms. He added that the CPEC offers a wide range of prospects and chances and that in order to take advantage of these potentials and benefit both countries, two-sided collaboration is required.
