Finance Minister Reiterates Commitment to Complete IMF Program
The Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, has restated the government’s commitment to fulfilling all international obligations and completing the existing IMF program.
Today, a delegation of Executive Directors from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), including representatives from China, Japan, Korea, and Pakistan, visited the Finance Minister at the Finance Division.

During the meeting, the Minister discussed the economic outlook of Pakistan, the challenges faced by the country, and the losses incurred due to the floods last year. He also praised the ADB’s efforts in promoting sustainable development in Pakistan and shared that the government has made difficult decisions to reduce budgetary and current account deficits while increasing revenue generation.

The ADB delegation appreciated the government’s reforms and policy decisions and discussed climate financing and environmental protection. The delegation pledged ADB’s full support and cooperation to Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Finance Division, including the SAPM on Finance, the SAPM on Revenue, the Secretary Finance, and other senior officers.
