First-Ever Asian Leopard Reserve to Set up at Margalla Hills
Malik Amin Aslam, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change (SAPM), has declared that Pakistan’s Margalla Hills National Park will house the world’s first Asian leopard sanctuary.
The park contains around 600 plant species, 38 mammal species, 27 reptile species, and 402 bird species, making it the most biodiverse park in the country.
Margalla Hills National Park is the third-largest national park in the world, yet it encompasses more than 17,386 hectares.
This magnificent park is located in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. The Margalla Hills are a well-known tourist destination, and locals also appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the area.
In addition to constituting the foothills of the famous Himalayas with Rawal Lake and Shakarparian Park, the Margalla Hills are renowned for forming the foothills of the Margalla Hills.
