Fitrana Fixed at Rs. 320 Per Person in 2023

Eminent religious scholar and former Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman declared that the minimum Sadqa-e-Fitr donation, which devout Muslims are obliged to make during the holy month of Ramadan, has been set at Rs. 320 per individual for the current year. According to Islamic Shariah, this rate is dependent on the cost of basic foods like flour, dates, raisins, cheese, and barley.

Helping the underprivileged and needy members of society, particularly on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, is the main goal of Sadqa-e-Fitr. Devout Muslims can support the underprivileged and destitute during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr with this deed, which will also bring blessings from Allah Almighty.

According to Mufti Muneeb, the amount for Fitrana is determined at Rs. 320 per head based on the market price of 2.25 kilograms of flour. Devout Muslims should spend a minimum of Rs. 480 and Rs. 2,800 per head, respectively, for Fitrana, which is equal to the cost of barley and dates.

Similar to this, devout Muslims who wish to pay Fitrana at the rate of raisins should do so by spending Rs. 6,400 for first-class dates and Rs. 4,800 for second-class raisins per individual.

Before the Eid prayers, a devout Muslim who has extra food must give Sadqa-e-Fitr. Mufti Muneeb also advised people to give the money to the poor before Eid-ul-Fitr so that they could enjoy the holiday as well. If a person is the breadwinner, they should also pay Sadqa-e-Fitr for their dependents, such as their spouse, children, dependent relatives, or servants. Close relations, neighbors, and the poor are those who deserve Sadqa-e-Fitr the most.

According to Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, it is preferable to pay for a hotel’s meal because the true spirit of Fitr and Fidya is giving a hungry individual two meals. However, in this era of soaring inflation, those who are wealthier should attempt to pay more to provide aid to the poor.

Anyone who was unable to fast for the entirety of Ramadan is required to make a full-month compensation payment, which is equal to Rs. 9,600 for wheat, Rs. 14,400 for barley, Rs. 84,000 for dates, Rs. 192,000 for first-class raisins, and Rs. 144,000 for second-class raisins, based on the current market price.

Kufara would cost Rs. 3,200 for wheat, Rs. 4,800 for barley, Rs. 28,000 for dates, Rs. 64,000 for first-class raisins, and Rs. 48,000 for second-class raisins.

Overall, Mufti Muneeb-ur-statement Rehman’s reminds devout Muslims of their duty to fulfill the needs of those in need during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations and to assist the less fortunate during Ramadan. It is anticipated that Muslims across the nation will perform this deed of kindness.
