For Inexpensive 3.5 Marla NPHP, Poll Held in 3 Punjab Tehsils
According to news sources, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday held balloting for low-cost 3.5-marla houses constructed in three tehsils of Punjab as part of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) (January 21).

The insider did not identify the identities of the three tehsils in Punjab where the scheme reportedly began. According to the information, balloting was conducted for the PM Peri-Urban Affordable Housing Project, which will provide 3.5-marla houses for PKR 1.75 million to low-income households. The low-cost housing will be given in monthly payments of PKR 6,526 over a twenty-year period. Moreover, the prime minister announced that successful applicants will be eligible for mortgage finance and loans.
The mortgage finance will be provided by a consortium of banks led by the Bank of Punjab, he clarified. During his remarks, Prime Minister Buzdar said that the government has taken concrete steps to provide housing for the needy. As part of the NPHP, affordable housing would be established in every tehsil and district. 54 locations have been surveyed by the Naya Pakistan Housing Development Authority (NAPHDA), which has picked 133 regions across the province.

According to sources, the NAPHDA intends to construct approximately 10,000 dwelling units on 32 sites during the initial phase of the project. The affordable housing project will be completed by Frontier Work Organization (FWO) and National Logistics Cell (NLC), while Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab will ensure the project’s building quality.
