KP Funds Rotated for Maintenance, Rehabilitation of Road Network
According to news reports, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highways Council approved PKR 1.672 billion for the annual maintenance plan of the Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority (PKHA) in Peshawar.

During the meeting, it was decided that the provincial cabinet would be presented with the budget for road maintenance for approval.
In addition, a mechanism to control the overloading of freight vehicles on PKHA-managed highways was discussed at the meeting. In addition, the meeting authorised the provincialization of four roads for proper maintenance and administration. The roads consist of:
126-kilometre Topi-Buner road 85-kilometre Thakot-Darband road 61-kilometre Bannu-Miranshah road
35-kilometre Sheringal-Patrak road
In addition, the meeting was informed of the new highways and roads projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP). It was reported that ADP included six highway projects with a combined cost of more than PKR 6 billion.

Two major road projects have been included in the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP) by PKHA.
The rehabilitation of the Thal-Parachinar road will cost 8.6 billion Pakistani rupees.

The completion of road and highway projects in a timely manner should be ensured to provide the public with high-quality transportation facilities, as stated by the prime minister.
