FWO Mobilizes Machinery to Start Work on Margalla Road
Islamabad: The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has mobilized machinery to begin construction of Margalla Road, which was laid down by Prime Minister Imran Khan last month.

After Federal Cabinet approval, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) commissioned his FWO to carry out the project. A CDA official said the FWO is ready to mobilize its machinery and start construction from Sangjani.
The first phase will build a road from Sangjani to D-12, bypassing Bhara Kahu and then from the end of Constitution Avenue to Satra Meel.

From D-12 to Constitution Avenue, the existing Khayaban-i-Iqbal will serve as a link between the north and east sections of Margala Road. In Phase 2, CDA will build a road from D-12 to Constitution Avenue.
On April 1, the PPRA Board authorized the CDA to implement the Margala Road Project, the Alipur Flash Town Housing Project and the Gazi Barosa Water Supply Project under a single tender.

However, the board refused to approve the two road projects. Both cases are now being resubmitted for review, as the CDA has said that the execution of the two projects must be expedited by the FWO.
