The German Embassy in Islamabad has temporarily closed its visa section due to road closures and security arrangements linked to the upcoming round of US–Iran negotiations expected next week.
According to a statement shared by German Ambassador to Pakistan Ina Lepel on X (formerly Twitter), the visa section will remain closed from 20 April 2026 until at least 21 April 2026.
The ambassador advised applicants not to visit the visa section during this period, adding that all previously scheduled appointments will be rescheduled by the embassy.
The closure comes as security has been tightened across Islamabad in preparation for high-level diplomatic activities related to the US–Iran talks.
The embassy did not announce a final reopening date beyond the initial suspension period but said that updates regarding new appointment dates will be shared with affected applicants.
