Pakistan and Germany have signed a €40.5 million (approximately Rs 12.3 billion) technical cooperation agreement to launch nine new development projects across key sectors, with support from the German Development Bank (KfW).
The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support sustainable development initiatives in Pakistan.
Focus on Climate, Energy, and Social Protection
According to officials, the new projects will focus on important areas including:
- Climate change mitigation and adaptation
- Renewable energy development
- Social protection programs
These initiatives are designed to support long-term development goals and improve community-level services across different regions of Pakistan.
Agreement Signed to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
The agreement was formally signed by Secretary Economic Affairs Muhammad Hameer Karim and German Ambassador Anna Lieppel.
Both sides highlighted the importance of continued collaboration, noting that Pakistan and Germany share long-standing development cooperation ties.
Support for Sustainable Growth
Officials stated that the partnership will help expand Pakistan’s development portfolio while delivering practical benefits at the grassroots level.
Germany also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sustainable and inclusive growth in Pakistan through continued financial and technical assistance.
