Government to Appoint New MD for Utility Stores Corporation
Islamabad: The federal government has chosen to replace Utility Stores Corporation’s managing director (USC).
Upon receiving approval from the federal cabinet, the Ministry of Industries & Production reportedly started the hiring process for the new MD.

According to reports, the government would appoint the new MD from the private sector for a three-year term because the current MD, Umar Lodhi, has a two-year term that expires in May of this year.
It should be emphasised that Lodhi’s disagreements with USC’s former chairman and chief financial officer (CFO) kept him in hot water during his tenure.
The USC MD had been employed on an MP-1 scale, he said, “but Lodhi was not only enjoying monetization allowances but had also kept three automobiles for his own use, which is illegal and inappropriate.”

It is important to note that current MD Umar Lodhi and former USC chairman Zulqarnain Ali Khan have levelled accusations of power abuse, corruption, and irregularities against one another. These allegations forced the former chairman to step down, which is why.
