Government to build the Rawalpindi-Murree Tourism Expressway
In his address to the officials, Tariq Mehdi Murtaza stated that the alternative route would also reach additional tourist attractions that would traverse four Tehsils of the Rawalpindi region. The project would be completed in two years at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.5 billion.

From Rawat Pandori Chowk, the 123-kilometer highway would traverse the four mountainous tehsils of Rawalpindi: Kahuta, Kotli Sattian, Kalar Syedan, and Murree. He added that the project will be completed in two years, with construction commencing immediately.

According to him, commercial buildings, squares, factories, and markets, as well as expansive parks, would be developed along the sides of the roadway.
