Government to Turn Layyah’s Gishkori Nashaib Into Model Village
Multan: According to news reports, the Punjab government has agreed to spend PKR 160 million to transform Gishkori Nashaib, a village on the left bank of the River Indus in Layyah district, into a model village.

During his speech at the model village’s opening ceremony, Layyah Deputy Commissioner (DC) Azfar Zia said that the District Development Programme of the provincial chief minister will fund a number of development projects involving roads, a community hospital, electricity, and other utilities.
The settlement, which is ringed by an offshore river, will also get a bridge, according to the plans. For this reason, the district management has sent a plea to the Punjab Planning and Development Department.

The deputy commissioner also mentioned that it costs the people a lot of money and time to travel daily distances of more than 100 kilometers to go to the opposite side of the river.
Additionally, DC Zia revealed that PRK 160 million had been guaranteed for the village’s uplift package. According to the proposed development endeavor, more than 10,000 individuals will have access to health care and clean, potable water.
