Guidelines for Faisalabad Master Plan Approved by FDA
Wednesday, the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Board of Governors (BoG) reportedly approved the prerequisites for the development of the Faisalabad Master Plan (March 16). The proposed regulations would govern land use, enforcement of the master plan, modification procedures, and other regulations as appropriate.

Reports indicate that FDA Chairman Latif Nazar presided over the meeting, which was also attended by other board members. The discussion centered on the implementation of the Faisalabad Master Plan and how it will affect the city’s existing infrastructure. During the meeting, other parts of the master plan were also discussed. The BoG endorsed the master plan’s enforcement regulations unanimously.
According to the chairman, the authority is executing federal directives to construct metropolitan master plans that will prepare areas for future development. Notably, the government has mandated the creation of a master plan for 80 localities across the nation in an effort to avoid illegal green-to-brown land conversion.

The administration asserts that the plan will increase food security and make cities more habitable in the future through enhancing agricultural land management.
