The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the Seoul National University (SNU) President Fellowship Program for the Spring 2027 intake, offering Pakistani faculty members an opportunity to pursue fully funded PhD studies in South Korea.
According to HEC, the fellowship is offered by Seoul National University (SNU), while the commission is only publicizing the opportunity received through official diplomatic channels. The application period is short and will remain open from July 6 to July 9, 2026.
The fellowship is intended for university teaching and instructional staff from developing countries who do not already hold a PhD degree and wish to pursue doctoral studies at SNU.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is open to Pakistani faculty members serving at universities and higher education institutions.
Applicants must:
- Be teaching or instructional staff at a university in a developing country.
- Hold a Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Not already possess a PhD degree.
- Apply for admission to a PhD program at Seoul National University for the Spring 2027 semester.
Eligible Positions
SNU considers applicants eligible if they are employed in teaching or academic research roles. Eligible positions include:
- Professor
- Associate Professor
- Assistant Professor
- Research Professor
- Lecturer
- Instructor
- Teaching Assistant
- Research Assistant
Applicants in similar academic positions may also qualify, provided they can submit valid proof of employment demonstrating teaching or research responsibilities.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected fellows may receive a comprehensive scholarship package, including:
- Full tuition fee coverage for up to six semesters
- Monthly stipend of KRW 1.5 million to KRW 2 million for three to four years
- Round-trip economy-class airfare
- Korean language training during regular semesters
- National health insurance support
- Childcare support, where applicable

Interested candidates must submit their online application through the Seoul National University Office of Admissions during the official admission period.
Applicants are also required to select the “Application for Scholarship” option while completing their admission application. Candidates should carefully review the official SNU guidelines and prepare all required documents before applying.
