Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has dismissed rumors circulating on social media regarding a potential power blackout in Rawalpindi and nearby areas. In an official statement, IESCO confirmed that there are no instructions for shutting down any grid stations and that electricity supply continues as normal across the entire IESCO region.

The clarification comes amid growing concerns fueled by unverified posts online suggesting a large-scale power outage. IESCO reassured the public that these claims are baseless and that the company is in continuous coordination with the district administration and other relevant authorities to maintain uninterrupted power services.

While the district administration has encouraged citizens to adopt precautionary measures, IESCO emphasized that there have been no official directives issued for any planned blackout or shutdown of electricity infrastructure. The power utility urged residents to rely only on verified updates and refrain from spreading misinformation.

IESCO also highlighted that its technical teams remain on high alert, with senior officers stationed in shifts at the Islamabad control room. This round-the-clock monitoring is aimed at ensuring a stable and secure electricity supply throughout the region, especially during times of heightened public concern.
