IG Railways Directs Tight Monitoring of Retrieved Land in Rawalpindi

Muhammad Wasi Fakhre Sultan, along with the SRP Rawalpindi and DSP RP-A, visited railway land on Shah Bukhari Road in Rawalpindi on May 15, 2026, to inspect areas recovered during a recent anti-encroachment operation.

During the visit, the IG Railways Police directed officials to ensure that no illegal encroachments return to the recovered land. He said protecting railway property is an important responsibility of the Railways Police and stressed that these assets should be properly utilized to help increase the revenue of Pakistan Railways.

He instructed officers to maintain regular monitoring of the sites and coordinate closely with railway authorities so the land can be used effectively for productive purposes.

Later, the IG also visited the under-construction SRP Office and related buildings at PRP Rawalpindi. He ordered officials to complete the remaining construction work as soon as possible according to the revised PC-1 plan. He also emphasized making the auditorium and admin block operational quickly in coordination with railway authorities.

During the inspection, he reviewed cleanliness arrangements at the construction site and directed staff to immediately clear debris, bushes, and wild plants from the area.

Afterward, the IG Railways Police visited Hassan Railway Police Lines in Rawalpindi, where he inspected residential and office facilities and issued instructions for further development work. He also stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and improving the overall environment within the police lines.
