How to Protect Yourself During Heatwave

To protect your health and wellbeing, you must take action when temperatures around the nation soar to previously unheard-of heights. Here are five methods for shielding oneself from the intense heat:

Stay Hydrated

Even if you don’t feel particularly thirsty, make sure to drink enough of water throughout the day.

Avoid Going Outdoors Unnecessarily

Limiting your time spent outside, especially during the hottest times of the day, is advised while the heat wave is at its worst.

Cover Yourself

Wear hats or caps that cover your face, neck, and ears when you are outside to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. The danger of sunburn or heatstroke can be decreased by carrying an umbrella, which adds another layer of protection from the sun.

Wear Light-Colored Clothes

Choose clothing that is loose-fitting, airy, and light-colored. Dark clothing absorbs heat, keeping you warmer than light-colored clothing that reflects sunshine and heat.

Keep Your Windows Shut

It is advised to keep windows and drapes closed during the afternoon when the sun’s intensity is at its highest to preserve a cooler indoor environment.
