Most Islamabad Police service centers and the Traffic Headquarters will remain closed on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, according to an official notice.
The one-day closure will also suspend professional driving tests for Light Transport Vehicles (LTVs), Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs), and Public Service Vehicles (PSVs).
During the closure, LTV and HTV driving tests will not be conducted, while the PSV testing facility at F-8 will also remain shut. Applicants scheduled for tests or visits to the Traffic Headquarters and affected centers will not be able to complete their appointments on the day.
The notice did not clarify whether cancelled appointments will be automatically rescheduled.
However, two service centers will remain operational. The Police Khidmat Markaz in F-6 and the Cascade Service Center in the Diplomatic Enclave are exempt from the closure.
These centers typically provide services such as driving licence renewal, issuance of duplicate licences, learner permits for motorcycles and cars, sign tests, and driving road tests. The F-6 centre generally operates 24/7, while the Cascade centre usually functions from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The closure applies only to physical service points and testing facilities. Online services, including licence verification, e-challan checking, appointment booking, and overseas licence renewals, are expected to remain operational.
The notification did not mention any reason for the closure, nor did it indicate whether the suspension would extend beyond June 23.
