Farrukh Habib, the minister of state for information and broadcasting, declared that the Naya Pakistan Housing Project will now include members of the journalist community who were previously excluded from government housing programmes.
At a press conference held at the National Press Club, the minister announced the news.

Speaking to the media, the minister noted that barely 1% of Punjab’s population, which comprises 68% of the working class, owns a home. Banks offer working class borrowers with stronger financial standing low interest house loans that may be repaid over a 20-year period.

He emphasized that while playing a crucial role in holding the government accountable, raising the voice for the downtrodden, and speaking out on matters of national security, journalists are a group that is frequently ignored.
With the help of this plan, the government would guarantee the protection of media professionals, which is essential. The twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be the first to implement the idea, and additional cities will follow.
The minister said that they are now trying to find solutions to the issues surrounding the pay of journalists and media professionals.
