Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has inaugurated a newly constructed road connecting Khwaja Ajmer Nagri in District Central with Manghopir in District West, aiming to improve connectivity and transport links between the two areas.

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) completed the road after upgrading essential underground infrastructure, including water supply, sewerage and drainage lines. Officials said the approach was intended to address underlying infrastructure issues and support the long-term usability of the road.

KMC has also installed new streetlights along the route to improve visibility and safety for motorists and pedestrians, particularly during nighttime.

The inauguration attracted local residents, with the mayor noting that children and community members participated in the gathering to welcome the completion of the development work.

According to Wahab, residents said the area had witnessed limited development of this scale in nearly 40 years.

The newly inaugurated road is expected to improve movement between Khwaja Ajmer Nagri and Manghopir, while providing better access to surrounding neighbourhoods and addressing long-standing infrastructure concerns.
