KDA Enquired to Clear Rs 30 Million Dues
Kohat: The Kohat Development Authority (KDA) has been ordered by the Water Supply and Sanitation Company to pay the Rs 30.5 million in back taxes that have been owed since 2020.

Rauf Khan, the chief executive officer of WSSC, stated in a statement released here on Monday that the company was unable to cover ongoing expenses and pay salaries to its sanitation personnel due to unpaid debts.
According to the agreement, he added, the KDA was required to pay Rs 50 million in sanitation fees annually in order to pay personnel salaries.
Hidayatullah Khan, a KDA accounts officer, stated that the authority had already paid Rs 19.5 million in overdue WSSC fees and that the remaining Rs 30.5 million will be paid in installments.

The KDA representative said that the tehsil municipal government owed Rs 9 million.
He claimed that WSSC, however, was withholding information on the more than Rs 1.8 million that had been seized in relation to the water connections given to 3,000 families.
The KDA official said a budget committee of the local government had been created lately for approving the budgetary demands of the groups working under the uplift authority.
