KP to Construct Phase II of Swat Motorway
According to the most recent reports, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) roads authority and a private construction business signed a contract on Wednesday for the construction of the second phase of the Swat Motorway.

The 80-kilometer highway from Chakdara to Fatehpur would be constructed at a cost of Rs37 billion through a public-private partnership. The deal was inked at the residence of Mr. Mahmood Khan, the chief minister.
The project will consist of eight bridges and nine interchanges and will be completed in two years. Initially, the motorway will feature four lanes, although expansion to six lanes is possible in the future.
Mahmood Khan said, “The process of acquiring land to commence practical work has begun; the project will be a landmark for the region’s long-term growth.”
The completion of the project will stimulate provincial commerce, tourism, and economic activity. In addition, the provincial government is constructing various highway projects to connect all of the province’s districts.

The government of KP has also advertised the construction of the Dir Motorway, which, according to the government, will boost mobility for the districts of Dir, Chitral, and Bajaur.
