LDA Develops Traffic-Relief Strategies
Lahore: According to a news source, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Aziz Ahmad Tarar told the city commissioner that the authority is working on a number of new projects to ease traffic in the city.

The commissioner was also given an update by DG LDA on the progress of the Shahkam Chowk Flyover, Gulab Devi Underpass, and Sheranwala Gate Flyover projects. These initiatives will lessen traffic congestion, notably at Shahkam Chowk, the intersection of the three major routes Canal Road, Multan Road, and Defense Road.
Up to 200,000 cars per day will pass under the two-lane, signal-free overpass, which costs PKR 4.5 billion.
Before the start of the road infrastructure work, the commissioner was briefed at the discussion about the alternative traffic plan to reroute cars.

The committee was made aware of the multilevel turbo roundabout at Shahdara chowk for heavy and light traffic control in addition to the three projects. The roundabout will segregate heavy and light cars. The commissioner requested that the Shahdra roundabout redevelopment get underway as soon as possible while appreciating the project.
