LDA to Deliver Kasur, Sheikhupura’s Property Archives to TMAs
According to news reports, the government has ordered the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to immediately transfer all land use and private housing scheme records for the districts of Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana Sahib to the aforementioned defunct tehsil municipal administrations (TMAs), municipal committees, and tehsil councils.

This development came after the ordinance to alter the Lahore Development Authority Act of 1975 was recently passed, restricting the authority’s authority to to the metropolitan districts of the province capital.
According to an LDA official, the organization is now compiling the relevant property records for delivery to the appropriate field formations in the aforementioned districts.

According to reports, the authority’s jurisdiction was extended to more districts in order to regulate the proliferation of unauthorized structures. But, because of different technological, legal, and administrative norms, the problems could not be resolved.
