LHC Asks for Report on Anti-Smog Plan from Government Agencies
Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court (LHC) requested a report from the Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) about the installation of smog towers throughout the city, according to news outlets.

Justice Shahid Karim delivered the directions at a case hearing pertaining to groundwater protection and the environment.
As soon as the smog season begins, enterprises and businesses will be required to install air pollution control systems and CCTV cameras. Similarly, the environment secretary has been tasked with developing a smog action strategy for 2021-2022 within seven days.

Ali Ijaz, Deputy Director of the Environment, appeared before the court and was instructed that a meeting would be conducted under the leadership of the Chairman of the Water Commission to launch a program for the removal of vehicle-related pollution.
The court ordered the Food Authority to destroy the seized unhealthy food items in conformity with environmental rules, while submitting a comprehensive smog action plan to the Environment Secretary.
