Loan Procurement for Ravi Riverfront Project not in Plans: Gill
According to news reports, Dr. Shahbaz Gill, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Political Communication, indicated that there are no plans to take out a loan for the Ravi River Urban Development Project in Lahore.

Mr. Shahbaz Gill noted that, in contrast to prior projects, the Ravi Riverfront project did not require a loan. Shaikh Muhammad Imran, vice-chairman of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and Imran Amin, chairman of the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), both support the proposal. According to the special assistant, Pakistan’s first green city is the Ravi Riverfront project.
In addition, Special Assistant Shahbaz Gill stated that thirteen companies will create “Sapphire Bay.” Next week, the consortium agreement will be signed. To elucidate the project further, he explained that the first phase will involve the construction of seven treatment facilities, three barrages, and forestation.

He underlined that the project would encompass 29 sectors and 102 million acres of land. The project’s major objective is to address environmental challenges, water scarcity, and unrestrained population growth.
Shaikh Muhammad Imran, vice chairman of the LDA, remarked that the project will address the socioeconomic needs of the city while also offering employment opportunities.
