Local Government to Get Over RS 4 Billion in Next Fiscal
Peshawar: During the upcoming fiscal year, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will allocate Rs 4.5 billion for the elections for local bodies, the procurement of equipment for local government, and grants to the province’s financially disadvantaged tehsil municipal administrations.

The purpose of the conference was to go through the budgetary requirements for the local government, elections, and rural development departments for the upcoming fiscal year.
On this occasion, the relevant representatives from their departments, including the secretary, director general of local government, secretary of elections, secretary of delimitations, secretary of the local council board, chief executive of WSSP, and the finance department, shared their opinions on the departments’ operations and funding needs.
The committee decided to set aside Rs 2 billion for the procurement of cutting-edge equipment for managing solid waste and maintaining cleanliness in the province’s rural and urban areas.
In addition to allocating Rs 20 million to each of the six newly created tehsils and Rs 400 million in special grants for WSSP, the conference also resolved to allocate Rs 1 billion for financially vulnerable TMAs.

According to Minister Akbar Ayub Khan, environmental degradation and a lack of cleanliness account for 95% of all issues. He continued by saying that the government had developed a thorough plan to address those problems.
