Markets and Shops Will Now Remain Open Until 1 AM in Lahore
On Friday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) decided to grant extended trading hours for all marketplaces until 1:00 a.m. for the duration of Eid-ul-Fitr. Justice Shahid Karim made this announcement during a weekly hearing regarding environmental issues.

Before this ruling, the LHC had directed restaurants and bakeries to close at 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 p.m. on weekends.
Traders had approached Justice Karim to request an extension of business hours during Ramadan, as many people like to visit markets for Eid shopping after Iftar and Tarahweeh prayers.
Responding to their plea, Justice Karim granted extended market hours until 1:00 a.m. with the Eid-ul-Fitr occasion in mind. Additionally, last week, the judge allowed bakeries to remain open daily until 1:00 a.m. during the month of Ramadan.
