Master Plan of Islamabad Soon To Be Revised By a New Commission
ISLAMABAD, December 22, 2022- Capital Development Authority (CDA) sent a summary to the federal government asking them to form a new commission to revise the master plan for Islamabad.
A seven-person committee has been assembled by Islamabad’s Capital Development Authority (CDA) to work on enhancing the regulations governing building control. The group, which seeks to clarify the rules, will be under the direction of the director general of design. The committee will also speed up the building approval procedure, which presently takes three years for construction on plots of various sizes. The CDA will now be required to decide on building plans within 10 days of receiving them in accordance with the new plans. For Pakistanis residing overseas to be aware of the requirements before purchasing plots, the official stated that the modifications would be posted on the CDA website.

The Greek company Doxiadis Associates created the city of Islamabad’s present master plan. To keep up with city developments, they advised updating it every 20 years. But instead of fully altering the master design, each new administration kept making minor adjustments.
