Mega-Projects in Karachi: Utilization of Funds Stands at 47 PC
In comparison to the releases made during the first half of the current fiscal year, the Sindh government used cash for mega-projects in Karachi at a rate of 47%.
The provincial government of Sindh issued Rs972 million during the under-reviewed half year out of the overall allocation of Rs1.940 billion, according to the numbers for development expenditures for the period of July to December.

According to the Sindh government’s budget execution report for the quarter from July to September of this year, the provincial government had granted Rs574 million for city projects, or 30% of the total of Rs1.94 billion allotted for the entire fiscal. The utilisation improved in the second quarter compared to the first, and the half-year numbers revealed that releases were at 50%.
Along with that, it involves the widening and reconstruction of Stadium Road, the rehabilitation and improvement of roads in the vicinity of Lea Market, the enlargement of the bridge over Orangi Nullah close to Habib Bank Chowrangi, the building of a SWD from the Star Gate to Chakora Nullah on Shahrah-e-Faisal, and the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the road from the Jam Sadiq Bridge to Dawood Chowrangi.
