Minister Orders Operationalization of FGPMA at Earliest
Islamabad: Shaukat Tarin, adviser to the prime minister on finance and revenue, reportedly requested that the Federal Government Properties Management Authority (FGPMA) be made operational.
The authority is established to safeguard and administer federally and ministry-owned land around the country.

According to the information presented at the meeting, the administration issued an order to establish the FGPMA after receiving cabinet approval in July. The department’s formation, on the other hand, is time-consuming. In addition, the National Assembly (NA) has been handed the bill for the legal status of the newly formed department.
In addition, it was declared that the department’s major objective would be to protect, retrieve, and utilize state land in a manner that generates money and increases the property’s value.
As a result of the inability of several federal government entities to maintain the land, a major section of state land is currently subject to illegal occupation and encroachment.
According to the measure authorized for the establishment of the FGPMA, the authority’s actions will be immune from judicial review, and no authority action can be challenged in court. Similarly, the FGPMA can cancel or reschedule any project or mortgage assets with federal government consent.
