Mobile Phone Imports Increased by Over 51% in 8 Months
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the amount of mobile phones imported into the nation increased by 51.59 percent in the first eight months of the current fiscal year (2020-21) compared to the same period previous year (PBS).
When compared to the same month in the previous year, the import of mobile phones increased by 68.11 percent in February 2021 on an annual basis. In February 2021, mobile device imports into the nation totaled $175.823 million, compared to $104.590 million in February.

Due to the fewer working days in February, however, the imports of mobile phones decreased 10.68 percent month over month in February 2021 as compared to the imports of $196.855 million in January 2021, the data shows.
Thus, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $1.311 billion from July to February of 2020–21 as opposed to $865.180 million from July to February of 2019–20, a 51.59 percent rise.
