MoU Signed with Chinese Firm to Boost Construction
In Islamabad, the Ministry of Housing and Works and China State Development Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of low-cost housing units and the upgrading of slums for low-income individuals.

Housing and Works secretary Dr. Imran Zeb Khan and CSCEC’s chief representative signed the MOU.
The objective of the project is to develop affordable housing units as well as infrastructure, including roads, water supply, and the provision of power, natural gas, sewage system, and ancillary facilities.

After signing the MOU, Mr. Khan emphasized that the best-case scenario for this new endeavor is the formation of a subcommittee that will submit collaborative construction ideas to the government within 30 days.
He acknowledged the Chinese corporation’s interest in the Pakistani housing market and provided Chinese investors with other possibilities.
