NAB Begins Probe into Construction of Plazas in Capital
Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has initiated a probe into commercial and residential apartment plazas in the capital and requested information from the Capital Development Authority regarding all such projects (CDA).

The letter from NAB Rawalpindi, dated September 23 and available to the appropriate officials, stated, “In light of the foregoing, it is desired that data/information regarding commercial/residential plazas in Islamabad be provided.”
The CDA kept a database of sectorial zones, but most plazas in rural areas were unregistered, according to CDA sources. According to the sources, the bulk of high-rise and apartment complexes were functioning without completion and occupancy certifications.
The completion certificate is granted after the owner of a building has completed the project in accordance with the approved design and has completed other procedures, such as installing fire safety equipment.

Following the instruction of the federal cabinet, the CDA has chosen to implement its bylaws in E-11, according to a CDA official. He stated that in the past, rural areas were neglected, and the building control directorate was restricted to sectors exclusively.
The official stated that two building control sections had been established to approve building plans in housing societies and rural regions.
